Richard M. Saines

Ting Xu
Senior Project Manager
Global Project in the Bertelsmann Foundation North America

Ting Xu was born in Sichuan, China. Ms. Xu is Senior Project Manager for the Global Project in the Bertelsmann Foundation North America. She works extensively on bringing Asian perspectives of global governance on to transatlantic forums. Among the issues of global governance, one of her focus is on global climate governance. She has been involved in many high level multilateral workshops on renewable energy policy, and her current research focuses on how to reform UNFCCC’s role in order to bring more tangible emission mitigation results during tough global negotiations.
She started her career as an account executive for Dentsu Inc. Before she joined the Bertelsmann Foundation she was a World Bank consultant, working on sustainable development projects for China. She was a member of the World Bank team on Wenchuan Earthquake Emergency Relief and Reconstruction in 2008. Ms. Xu has also worked for the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Washington and the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo. She was a Graduate Fellow of United Nations Association. Her most recent publication is “Asia in Need of a New Way”. She holds a BA in Business Administration from Beijing Normal University and MA in International Economics and International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
