Colum Garrity
Public Sector Specialist, Public Sector Group, World Bank
Colum Garrity, an American national, joined the World Bank in 1998 as a consultant to the Mozambique and Zambia country team in the African Region. He has worked for the last five years in the Public Sector Group, where he assists the coordination of issues of governance and anticorruption, and co-manages the Bank's internal Advisory Services and Knowledge in Public Sector Governance ("AskGov").
Currently he is co-teaching courses on Corruption and Economic Development and Comparative Public Management at American University. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Garrity worked as a management consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc., based in Prague, Czech Republic. Mr. Garrity has a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University. He also holds a Master of Science in Management from Hult International Business School, Boston, Massachusetts (USA), and a M.A. in social anthropology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland (UK).
