Who Leads: Technology or a Distinct Mindset?

Have we abolished all the borders? Financial Capital and Limits
Corporate Panel: Private sector executives will discuss their approaches in current global marketplace. Specific focus may be drawn to two questions:

  1. Today: Is international trade conducted in borderless environment? If so, what are some of the encouraging signs and uncertainties; and where does the industry see the trait leading to?
  2. Tomorrow: With technology encroachment in almost all aspects of our life and in essential components of globe’s day to day operation should we expect a large change in how we conduct international transactions? If so, will the global marketplace become local by bypassing structural limitations and regulations enacted by governments put in place to either legitimize their control over their local economies or to make the best of the global marketplace

Global Partnership or Coexistence?!
International Organizations and Academic Panel: International experts and academics will discuss the enhancement of multilateral international cooperation. A particular focus will be on close collaboration of International Institutions, transnational corporations, local governments, non-profit entities. The topic will address the following questions:

  1. Are international institutions in a natural confluence and every entity is needed for a peaceful and economically viable global system; or
  2. Do they just co-exist for security reasons? Is there a weak link or should any one of the elements be considered as an endangered species?

Path to Global Democracy?!
Ambassadorial Panels: High ranking UN officials and diplomats will introduce and discuss various elements possibly leading to Global governance. The role of the individual and the below questions will be highlighted:

  1. Is the future of the globe having all of its citizens become equal stakeholders?
  2. Will the current system and the path where we are heading remove all the borders within the nation-states and also between people?
  3. Will a borderless global society encourage peaceful and objective competition amongst individual global citizens?

Unlikely peacemaker?! Religion and Unity
Religious Panel: Young people and representatives of religious communities will be engaged in interactive discussions about overall religious interrelations. A special focus will be allotted to determining these discussion points:

  1. Is there a need to modernize religious interactions to accommodate the techno-hyper society and also to attract and recruit more young people?
  2. Can and should religion also deliberately promote association and mutuality amongst all the people irrespective of any difference by promoting inner peace to distinct communities?
